Thanks for that Jude, my eMac falls into the Serial Number range specified. I have only once noticed scrambled video on the screen and that was only short term but will keep an eye on it. Patrick

I think even one episode of scrambled video might sent me in with Mac for a check while the opportunity is there --- if you can spare the Mac for a few days anyway. Unfortunately these days it can turn into a fortnight even if you are under Apple warranty.

Well here we are ten months later and after my eMac becoming more and more unreliable with some video scrambling but more importantly freezing regularly I have had it repaired under the Apple program. They did this quickly without any questions and it's now like a new machine. Thanks Judy for the initial post. By the way, how are your eyes? Cheers Pat
