Our constantly updated monthly software range distributes apps and other software legally to members, including:
- Apple-Q HowTo Tutorials,
- Apple software updates,
- freeware and open source,
- demonstration apps.
We release updates each month, which are uploaded to our Apple-Q Server. These updates can be downloaded for free via our Wi-Fi network during meetings.
The most interesting updates and new applications are highlighted during the meeting or in our Apple-Bug magazine so you know what to expect.
Note: Software piracy is discouraged and is against club rules.

LibreOffice
Used to create our Apple-Q HowTo Tutorials.
LibreOffice is a free and powerful office suite, and a successor to OpenOffice.org (commonly known as OpenOffice).

GIMP
Used for all of our image editing.
GIMP is a cross-platform image editor available for GNU/Linux, macOS, Windows and more operating systems. It is free software free software, you can change its source code and distribute your changes.

calibre
Runs our Apple-Q-core web site.
calibre is a powerful and easy to use e-book manager. Users say it’s outstanding and a must-have. It’ll allow you to do nearly everything and it takes things a step beyond normal e-book software. It’s also completely free and open source and great for both casual users and computer experts.
There are a lot of ways to approach burning discs. Burn keeps it simple, but still offers a lot of advanced options.

VLC for Mac OS X
VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
Spotlight is great, but sometimes you need something more specialised. EasyFind finds files and folders by name, content, tags, or comments using advanced Boolean operators similar to DEVONthink and DEVONagent, wildcards, phrases, even regular expressions. It does not require indexing, is fast, and uses very little memory.
OnyX is a multifunction utility that you can use to verify the structure of the system files; run miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning tasks; configure parameters in the Finder, Dock, Safari, and some Apple applications; delete caches; remove certain problematic folders and files; rebuild various databases and indexes; and more.
OnyX is a reliable application which provides a clean interface to many tasks that would otherwise require complex commands to be typed using a command-line interface.
Disk Speed Test is an easy to use tool to quickly measure and certify your disk performance for working with high quality video! Simply click the start button and Disk Speed Test will write test your disk using large blocks of data, and then display the result. Disk Speed Test will continue to test writes and reads from your disk so you can evaluate both performance and readability over time.
