Whilst sitting about at hearing related appointments with my husband I perused some of the literature to fill time and amongst the leaflets was the subject of tinnitus. Tinnitus is described as the perception of sound when no corresponding external sound is present. Some people may describe the sounds ringing, clicking, buzzing, hiss, or roaring. It can be soft or loud, low or high pitched and appear to be coming from one or both ears. It can sound like music or singing but that's quite rare.
