Apple Macs come with a Hardware Diagnostic Tool (formally called Apple Hardware Test) which few know about and, due to this, it is rarely used. So if your think that your Mac might have a hardware problem you can run this tool to test it. It does not do an extensive test, simply tests that the hardware is working, so you may need to do further testing if you feel there is a hardware problem that was not detected.
